About Me
My name is Petri Mäkitalo and I’m a nature and wildlife photographer from Helsinki, Finland.
I started my career as a videographer in the beginning of 2000 and moved fluently to be a professional video editor.
Past 20+ years I have worked with the biggest television companies in Finland, editing award winning series ranging
from reality shows and commercials to documentaries. Working with visual images has become like a second nature to me.
At the moment I’m using Sony A1 and my favourite lense of choice for it is Sony 400mm 2.8. With this high quality combination
I’m able to bring my visions alive, both for social media and printed art.
Besides working with visual images, I’ve been working with music as well. In my musical journey I’ve released music both with major labels and my own indie label.
Being an artist and working with fairly artistic professions naturally influences my photography too. I wish to present nature and animals as beautiful art.
My mission is to create an artistic gateway to nature through my photographs.
And that’s what it is all about - helping people to see the beauty of nature and also to give nature the appreciation it deserves.
